The seventh  Syke expert mission took place from September 12 till 20, 2023. The main goal of the country's mission was to arrange and conduct training on water sampling and auditing the work of the field works during Issyk-Kul lake shoreline monitoring mission.

3nd Project Board, April 2023

The second Project Board meeting was arranged in Bishkek on April 5, 2023 and held in a hybrid format with the assistance of ZOOM platform allowing participation of more Syke representatives.

 

The main decisions made by the Project Board included, but not limited by: arrangement of field missions in late spring-summer for installation of passive samplers for following analyses of surface water quality in Naryn river, Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul lakes  basins for wider range of metals and pesticides; support of shoreline Issyk-Kul monitoring after recreation season and combine it with sampling training; arrangement of  the next Project board meeting in Finland in October 2023 together with the capacity building study tour for managerial staff; as well as to  render support for the Public Fund “Clean Issyk-Kul” in the framework of the world water clean-up day in September 2023; and other important decisions toward achievement of project goal.
